Carl Johengen, Tenor
Jill Rubio, Flute
Douglas Rubio, Guitar

Formed in 2001, Sweet, Fair & Wise combines the talents of three virtuoso performers in
works of the classical, folk, and modern traditions. The trio has developed a reputation for
innovative and effective programs of chamber music. They perform a dizzyingly diverse
repertoire, including arrangements and original compositions by Dowland, Telemann, Bach,
Mozart Britten, Falla, and Argento, and have premiered new works written especially for them by
award winning composers Paul Siskind ("Three cummings songs") and Persis Vehar ("Everyone
Suddenly Burst Out Singing"). They have performed to great acclaim across New York State and
the nation, including appearances at the 2004 Festival of the St. Lawrence, and by invitation at
the 2004 Convention of the National Association of Teachers of Singing in New Orleans.
